We stayed at the Beach and King House for our family vacation. There were 13 of us. My husband and I along with our grown children and their families. Six adults and 7 children, ages 1-60. It was the perfect house. Everyone had their own space and the main areas accommodated us all very well. The kitchen was perfect. Had everything we needed. Except plastic plates and cups for small children. We just bought paper for them. And we appreciate that recycling was an option. Anything we needed for preparing our meals was available including some seasoning options. The kitchen is stocked very well. All of the beds were comfortable. The owner supplied us with a rental company who had a baby bed, stroller and high chair there and set up when we arrived. All of those items were very clean and in excellent shape. We did not ever locate the video games and console that is listed in the amenities, much to the disappointment of our grandsons. But there were plenty of tv's for down time and the house has lots of games and books to read. I was wishing for more time to enjoy the books. The location could not be better. Right across from the beach so who ever stayed at the house for the baby's naps could still watch everyone having fun at the beach. Strolling through the park and down to Bearskin Neck is an enjoyable walk. Many options for food also within an easy walk. The grocery store is just a short drive away. Market Basket in Gloucester is a nice store with everything you might need. There is also Shaws a bit closer but not as big. The only negative and there is nothing to be done about this, is the parking. There is street parking available but if you leave in your car during the day to run to the store parking when you get back is a challenge. Especially this time of year because of the beach guest, there is a short parking spot on the property if you have a small car. We learned quickly to get all we needed at the store and then not leave again. After hours you can always move your car closer to the house but it is just difficult to get a place close to the house during the day. Our family loved the house and the area and hope to come back one day soon. Tim was a wonderful host, very available.

Tim was there to greet us and made sure we found appropriate parking for all incoming vehicles. Not an easy task especially since there were 12 of us with five vehicles to accommodate!
Once we had the parking situated, we stepped into the inn and I have to say the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Tim gave us a tour and we quickly settled in for our week-long stay. The inn is extremely well maintained throughout and the décor inviting and elegant. Local artists are featured throughout the inn which just enhanced the Rockport experience. The kitchen was organized and well equipped: mixer, coffeemaker, abundance of pots and pans, dishes, wine glasses and new appliances. The brand new refrigerator did give us a bit of trouble initially but Tim was right on top of it and actually delivered ice once or twice to make sure we were not inconvenienced. We took full advantage of the kitchen accommodations and grill and were able to prepare fabulous meals which we then served in the dining room which was certainly large enough to accommodate all of us.
Front Beach is a little small but the sea glass was in abundance so every morning began with a walk on the beach to collect the newly surfaced treasures. During the day, we were able to find a spot to set our beach chairs, stick our toes in the sand and sometimes take a refreshing (chilly) swim.
The absolute best was the ability to walk or ride our bikes into town and believe me we did that daily! There are so many wonderful coffee shops, cafés, and ice cream shops not to mention art galleries and shopping galore!
I would certainly recommend staying at the Beach & King Inn. Tim and Laurie are wonderful hosts!

Extended family of 12 ranging in age from 1 to 70 . We have been spoiled and every other vacation will be compared to Beach & King. Great having all our own bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and the eating area a perfect size for all of us. The parlor table was great for jigsaw puzzles. The front porch was good for coffee in the morning, cocktails at night and a great playpen for the 1 year old. Easy walk to beach, shops, restaurants and take out lobster dinners. Never got in a car until Friday to go see a lighthouse. Highly recommend!
The Beach & King is the perfect vacation home for our four generation family. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The front porch is a lovely spot to enjoy sunrises, sunsets, and a spectacular ocean view. The beach and town are steps away! Rockport offers a variety of wonderful shops and restaurants. Gloucester and Salem, with activities for all ages, are only a short drive. Boston is accessible by train. Tim and Laurie, the hosts at the Beach & King, are the best! They are hospitable and accommodating to their guests! We tremendously enjoyed our week at the Beach & King and are looking forward to a return visit next summer!

Eleven people (6 adults and 5 children) and there was plenty of room in the Beach King. The front porch, where you can watch the beach and the town of Rockport go by, is the best part of the house. We spent many mornings and evenings on the porch. The kitchen is huge and stocked more than adequately. Tim made sure we got settled in and familiar with all the house has to offer. The train to Boston is only a five minute walk and the shops and restaurants of Rockport are just down the street. The lobster benedict at Nates is spectacular and there are many ice cream shops to treat yourself to. Gloucester is a ten minute drive to great restaurants and fishing. If we ever come back to Rockport, I would certainly stay again.

Eleven of us in all and no one felt crowded in the Beach and King, especially since there were five bathrooms and many bedrooms to choose from. Although the weather did not always cooperate, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained: board games, cards, jigsaw puzzles, a spacious TV room and well stocked kitchen for those who love to cook and bake.
The house has many lovely paintings and interesting conversation pieces which added to the enjoyment of staying there. We greatly appreciated how clean everything was and how gracious Tim and Laurie were.
Rockport is a delightful town and "Beach and King" is nothing short of the best.
